British Council International Dimension in Schools certification for The High Range School

The High Range School in Munnar has been recognized with the British Council’s prestigious International Dimension in Schools certification in appreciation of its work to bring the world into the classroom.

The International Dimension in Schools certification celebrates the achievements of schools that do exceptional work in international education. Fostering an international dimension in the curriculum is at the heart of the British Council’s work with schools, so that young people gain the cultural understanding and skills they need for life work in today’s world.

The High Range School’s international work includes study on various topics like Design art around the world, Vibrant Hues, Wildlife and endangered species, Analysis of Tiffin boxes across countries, You ought to be in School, Dying Crafts, Usage of Fertilizers in Farming. Also collaborated with schools from countries like China, Pakistan and Nepal.

British Council introduced International Dimension in Schools (previously known as International School Award or ISA) in India in the year 2003, and nearly 2500 schools across the country have joined this exciting journey since then. The range of schools participating in the programme varies from well-resourced private schools to government schools from rural areas and schools for the less advantaged communities.

The International Dimension in Schools programme encourages and supports schools to develop :

  • an international ethos embedded throughout the school
  • a whole school approach to international work
  • collaborative curriculum-based work with a number of partner schools
  • year-round international activity
  • involvement of the wider community.
